Veteran Bollywood actor Rakesh Bedi was defrauded of Rs 85,000 by a scammer posing as an Army officer. The con artist, who contacted Bedi through a popular real estate website about his Pune flat, initially asked for a trial transaction of Rs 1, then requested Rs 50,000, claiming it would be refunded. After Bedi made two more transfers totalling Rs 35,000, he realised he had been scammed. A complaint has been lodged with the Oshiwara police, and Bedi has provided detailed information about the scammer, including bank account number, photographs, and transaction specifics.
