Light Aircraft Crashes on Busy Gloucestershire Road

A powered glider crash-landed on the A419 road in Gloucestershire on August 27, 2024, at around 4:45 p.m., narrowly avoiding other vehicles during rush hour. Eyewitnesses reported that the aircraft appeared to stall and nosedive before landing. Fortunately, both the pilot and passenger sustained only minor injuries and were taken to hospitals for evaluation, with emergency services quickly responding to the scene. The Great Western Air Ambulance was on-site, but was stood down shortly after arriving. The Air Accidents Investigation Branch is now investigating the incident, as the Cotswold Gliding Club confirmed the involvement of two of its members. Road closures were implemented while authorities managed the situation, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
