Dallas Officer Killed in Targeted Shooting
In a premeditated attack in Dallas, 30-year-old Corey Cobb-Bey fatally shot Officer Darron Burks while he was parked in his patrol car at a community center. After executing Burks, Cobb-Bey wounded two other officers, Jamie Farmer and Karissa David, before fleeing the scene. The incident began around 10:04 p.m. when Cobb-Bey approached Burks, recorded their interaction, and then opened fire. Farmer was shot in the leg while responding to the scene, and David was shot in the face shortly after she arrived. Cobb-Bey was later killed by police after pointing a shotgun at them during a chase in Lewisville. Chief Eddie Garcia characterized the attack as one of the most brutal police killings he has witnessed, emphasizing that the officers were targeted for their service.
