Malaysia, Pakistan Enhance Mpox Health Measures

In response to the global mpox outbreak, Malaysia and Pakistan are enhancing their health measures to curb the spread of the virus. Johor, Malaysia, has increased public health screenings at international entry points and is training health personnel for early detection and isolation of mpox cases. Malaysia's Health Ministry reported 33 suspected cases, with 32 confirmed negative, and has emphasized the need for public awareness and self-monitoring for travelers from high-risk countries. Pakistan has reported only two mpox cases, with strict monitoring and isolation protocols in place, following WHO guidelines. Only specific government laboratories in Pakistan are authorized to conduct mpox tests to ensure quality control. Meanwhile, Africa is set to receive 380,000 mpox vaccines, with the first batch arriving in the Democratic Republic of Congo by September 1st.
