Fire in Murrieta
A wildfire named the 'Alamos Fire' broke out on Friday near Los Alamos Hills Sports Park in Murrieta, burning approximately 72 acres before it was contained. The fire, reported around 3:22 p.m., prompted evacuation orders for nearby residents due to its rapid spread towards Whitewood Road and Vista Murrieta High School, which was not in session. Multiple firefighting agencies, including Cal Fire and Murrieta Fire & Rescue, responded with ground crews and aerial support, successfully halting the fire's advance by 5 p.m. Although there were reports of damage to electrical transmission lines, no injuries or structural losses were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and a care and reception center has been established for displaced residents.
