Beth Potter Wins Bronze in Women's Triathlon

Beth Potter, who transitioned from athletics to triathlon after competing in the 2016 Rio Olympics, secured a bronze medal in the women's triathlon at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Despite challenging conditions and fierce competition, Potter stayed with the lead pack throughout the swimming and cycling legs, ultimately finishing behind Cassandre Beaugrand of France and Julie Derron of Switzerland. The event faced potential cancellation due to water quality concerns but proceeded after the River Seine was deemed safe. Potter, now 32, has been training in Leeds with support from notable triathletes Alistair and Jonny Brownlee. This achievement marks her first Olympic medal in triathlon and adds to her previous successes, including a gold at the 2023 World Triathlon Championships.
