Three Soldiers, Five Terrorists Killed at Border

On the night of August 18/19, 2024, Pakistani security forces successfully thwarted a terrorist infiltration attempt by the Fitna al Khawarij group at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Bajaur District. During the operation, five terrorists were killed, while four others were injured. Tragically, three Pakistani soldiers—Naik Inayat Khan, Lance Naik Umer Hayat, and Sepoy Waqar Khan—lost their lives in the exchange of fire. The Pakistani military has called on the interim Afghan government to improve border management to prevent such incursions and terrorism. President Asif Ali Zardari expressed condolences and paid tribute to the fallen soldiers, emphasizing the nation's pride in their sacrifices. The military reaffirmed its commitment to securing the borders, stating that the bravery of the soldiers strengthens their resolve against terrorism.
