Manchester United is on the verge of signing Bayern Munich defenders Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui in a deal worth €45 million plus €5 million in add-ons for De Ligt and €15 million plus €5 million in bonuses for Mazraoui. De Ligt, who has previously played for Ajax and Juventus, will sign a five-year contract with an option for an additional year. However, Mazraoui's transfer is contingent on Aaron Wan-Bissaka's move to West Ham United for £15 million, which is currently under negotiation. United's summer spending has already surpassed £140 million with the acquisitions of Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee. Manager Erik ten Hag, who previously coached De Ligt and Mazraoui at Ajax, continues to strengthen the squad after a disappointing eighth-place finish last season.
