14-Year-Old Denies Attempted Murder at School
A 14-year-old girl has denied attempted murder charges relating to a stabbing incident at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman in Carmarthenshire, where two teachers and a pupil were injured. The girl, who was 13 at the time of the attack on April 24, pleaded not guilty to three counts of attempted murder but admitted to wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article. The incident led to a 'code red' lockdown at the school, and the girl was remanded into secure youth detention ahead of her trial set for September 30. The victims, teachers Fiona Elias and Liz Hopkin, have since been discharged from the hospital after suffering non-life-threatening injuries. The case has drawn significant attention, with the former Prime Minister and local officials expressing shock at the events. A separate case involves a 12-year-old girl charged with attempted murder of her mother, with her trial scheduled for September 9.
