EV charging stations in India

PennEnvironment Research and Policy Center has launched an interactive map highlighting over 260 state and national parks with electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, aimed at promoting eco-friendly road trips and outdoor adventures. Meanwhile, the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission has issued new guidelines to streamline the establishment of EV charging stations in urban areas of the state. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced a $249 million grant to enhance EV charging infrastructure along the Interstate-95 corridor, expected to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create jobs. In India, the government reported that 5,293 EV charging stations have been established on national highways, with plans for a total of 7,432 stations across the country. Hyderabad is planning to add 100 new EV charging stations to its existing network, despite facing challenges in infrastructure development. These initiatives reflect a growing commitment to expanding EV infrastructure globally, addressing climate change, and supporting the transition to electric vehicles.
