Hawaii Man Arrested for Explosive Devices
Robert Francis Dumaran, a 47-year-old man from Maui, has been arrested for his alleged involvement with several improvised explosive devices (IEDs) discovered on the island. He faces charges of possessing an unregistered destructive device and attempting to damage property using explosives, with a preliminary hearing set for August 27. Dumaran's fingerprints were reportedly found on tape used to construct one of the IEDs, which was located near Kahului Elementary School on July 23. Authorities have linked him to multiple explosions in the area, including one that damaged a passing vehicle. The investigation is ongoing, and if convicted, Dumaran could face up to 30 years in prison. Local residents have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity as the FBI and Maui Police Department continue their search for additional evidence.
