Hornets Draft KJ Simpson 42nd in NBA Draft

The Charlotte Hornets selected KJ Simpson, a guard from the Colorado Buffaloes, with the 42nd pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft. Simpson, a former four-star prospect, had a standout junior year, averaging 19.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game, and earning All-Pac-12 First Team honors. Despite being considered undersized, Simpson is praised for his scoring ability, off-ball movement, and improved three-point shooting. His defensive skills are seen as a weakness, but the Hornets believe his offensive contributions and competitiveness will make an impact. Simpson joins fellow CU Buffs, Cody Williams and Tristan da Silva, who were selected in the first round. Williams was picked 10th by Utah and da Silva was taken 18th by Orlando.
