The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has ramped up resources and patrols in the San Fernando Valley in response to a significant surge in burglaries, which has left residents and business owners fearful. Interim Chief Dominic Choi announced the collaboration with the FBI and community volunteer patrols to combat the crime spree. Recently, two major arrests were made, involving suspects known for numerous burglaries and other violent offenses, who used disguises and sophisticated methods. Despite these arrests, burglaries continue to plague the area, with multiple businesses hit in a short time frame, including shoe stores, computer shops, and smoke shops. The LAPD has organized public safety meetings and increased foot patrols to reassure the community and gather more information from residents. Choi emphasized the need for immediate and continued efforts to restore safety and urged the community to report any suspicious activities.
