Sarvam AI Launches Open-Source Generative AI Models

Bengaluru-based startup Sarvam AI has launched a range of products as part of its full-stack Generative AI platform, emphasizing accessibility for India's diverse linguistic landscape. Among the offerings is Sarvam 2B, touted as India's first open-source foundational model, trained on 4 trillion tokens and capable of processing instructions in 10 Indic languages. The platform also features Sarvam Agents—voice-enabled, multilingual business agents deployable via various communication channels—with usage starting at Rs 1 per minute. Additionally, Shuka 1.0 is introduced as India's first open-source audio language model, enhancing voice interactions in Indian languages. The startup aims to democratize AI, making it accessible to every Indian, while catering to industries such as financial services and legal services. Sarvam's products are also available as APIs, facilitating further development and integration into various applications.
