Mets Activate Dedniel Nunez from Injured List
The New York Mets have reinstated right-handed reliever Dedniel Núñez from the injured list, where he spent nearly a month due to a right forearm strain. Núñez, who has a strong 2.43 ERA in 24 appearances this season, is expected to strengthen the Mets' bullpen as they pursue a Wild Card spot. In a corresponding move, the Mets have optioned Huascar Brazobán to Triple-A Syracuse after his struggles in New York, where he posted a 6.30 ERA in 20 appearances. Núñez's return was slightly delayed due to travel issues, but he has since been cleared to play. Manager Carlos Mendoza highlighted Núñez's effectiveness as a high-leverage option, noting his ability to handle both right-handed and left-handed batters. The Mets hope that Núñez's presence will provide much-needed stability as they head into the final stretch of the season.
