Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj has publicly criticized Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena for neglecting the severe shortage of medical personnel in government hospitals. Bhardwaj accused Saxena of spreading falsehoods and failing to act on multiple letters regarding the vacancies, which he claims affect the quality of care for the city's poorest residents. He highlighted that over 292 general medical duty officers and 234 specialists are needed, with no action taken by the LG to address these gaps. The Health Minister suggested hiring doctors on a contractual basis due to delays in the official recruitment process. In response, officials from Raj Niwas attributed the current state of healthcare to years of misgovernance under the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). This ongoing conflict raises concerns about the management of healthcare resources in Delhi amid increasing demand for services.
