Bear Enters California Classroom, Causes Surprise

A young bear unexpectedly entered a classroom at Peak to Peak Charter School in Pine Mountain Club, California, while teacher Elaine Salmon was away in the office. The bear was searching for food, particularly drawn to the classroom's emergency earthquake kit containing snacks. Salmon's husband, Ian Sawrey, filmed the encounter and noted the bear's surprising lack of fear as it approached them at the window. After some effort, the couple managed to guide the bear out through an open door, emphasizing the growing issue of human-bear interactions in the area. Sawrey, who specializes in bear encounters, highlighted the increasing frequency of such incidents as urban development encroaches on bear habitats.
