Two Dead in Hit-and-Run Crash in Kansas City

Two separate fatal traffic incidents occurred in Kansas City over the weekend, resulting in multiple injuries and fatalities. In one incident, a speeding Mitsubishi Outlander crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with a Ford Transit van; the Mitsubishi driver died at the scene, while two juvenile passengers were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. In another incident, a hit-and-run occurred when a speeding Jeep Grand Cherokee struck a parked Nissan Altima, killing an unrestrained front-seat passenger and critically injuring the Nissan driver who was outside the vehicle. The driver of the Jeep fled the scene and remains at large, with police urging anyone with information to come forward. These incidents mark the 63rd and 66th traffic fatalities in Kansas City for 2024, compared to 60 fatalities during the same period last year. Investigations into both crashes are ongoing.
