Australia Prepares for Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25

Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood expressed a strong desire to win the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India, emphasizing that many players in the team have never beaten India in a Test series. Australia's last victory in a bilateral Test series against India was in 2014-15, and since then, they have suffered successive series defeats, including a notable comeback from India during the last encounter in 2020-21. Hazlewood acknowledged India's remarkable depth in cricket, stating that their 'B' team can sometimes be stronger than the 'A' team. He highlighted the importance of winning the series at home to regain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and improve their position in the World Test Championship standings. Hazlewood's personal motivation includes a desire to participate in the upcoming WTC final at Lord's, having missed the last one due to injury. The first Test of the series will commence on November 22 at Optus Stadium, Perth.
