Soldier Killed in Krishna Ghati Anti-Terror Operation

Lance Naik Subhash Chander, a soldier from the Indian Army, succumbed to injuries sustained during an infiltration bid thwarted by the Army along the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir. The incident occurred early Tuesday and involved a gunfight with heavily armed terrorists from Pakistan. Chander was the tenth military personnel to die in the Jammu region in July amid a surge in terrorist activities targeting security forces and civilians. Concurrently, another counter-terror operation in Kupwara district led to the death of one terrorist and one Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) from the security forces. The Indian Army has deployed over 4,000 soldiers, including elite para commandos, in response to the rising terror attacks in the region. Search operations are ongoing in the affected areas.
