Ukraine Establishes Military Office in Kursk Region
The Ukrainian Army has established a military commandant's office in the Kursk region of Russia, aimed at maintaining law and order and addressing the needs of the local population in territories under Ukrainian control. Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky reported to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that the office will be headed by Major General Eduard Moskaliov. Ukrainian forces have made significant advances, controlling approximately 1,150 square kilometers and 82 settlements in the region, with recent daily advances of up to 1.5 kilometers. The establishment of the commandant's office reflects Ukraine's ongoing military operations in the area and its plans to facilitate humanitarian aid for local residents. Discussions regarding the offices emphasize coordination among military units and adherence to international law, underscoring Ukraine’s strategic military objectives in the region.
