Sri Lanka Prepares for T20 Series Against India

Sri Lanka's interim coach Sanath Jayasuriya emphasized the need for his team to capitalize on the absence of Indian T20 stars Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja, who retired from the format following India's recent World Cup victory. The upcoming T20 series, starting July 27, marks a new chapter for India with Suryakumar Yadav appointed captain under new head coach Gautam Gambhir. Jayasuriya acknowledged the immense skill and experience these players brought to the team and expressed confidence that Sri Lanka could exploit this gap. He expressed optimism following a six-day training camp led by Rajasthan Royals' Zubin Bharucha, aimed at enhancing players' techniques. The series will feature new faces for Sri Lanka, including Kusal Perera and uncapped allrounder Chamindu Wickramasinghe. The matches will be held in Pallekele, with the first match scheduled for Saturday.
