Cedric Pitts, a 28-year-old Chicago resident, has been arrested and charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm following a July 29 shooting in Evanston, with no injuries reported. Separately, Jose Sanchez, a 42-year-old Evanston resident, has been charged with aggravated battery with a firearm for allegedly wounding a 3-year-old boy in Humboldt Park, Chicago, on August 3. Sanchez reportedly fired into a car occupied by the boy and his mother, grazing the child's leg, following a dispute with the boy's father. Both suspects are currently in custody, with Pitts awaiting a court appearance and Sanchez having appeared in court for a detention hearing. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing, with authorities seeking further information.
