Netflix Adapts Dorian Gray as The Grays

Netflix is set to adapt Oscar Wilde’s classic novel, 'The Picture of Dorian Gray', into a modern television series titled 'The Grays'. This contemporary reimagining will explore themes of eternal youth and beauty within the context of the modern beauty industry and will focus on siblings Basil and Dorian Gray, a departure from the original narrative. The series is produced by Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with Katie Rose Rogers as the writer and Rina Mimoun serving as showrunner. Lee Toland Krieger is onboard to direct the pilot episode. This adaptation is part of Netflix's strategy to expand its content offerings while reinterpreting classic literature for a new audience. The novel, originally published in 1891, has seen numerous adaptations over the years, making this latest project highly anticipated.
