The Pride: All Day, Every Day exhibit by Arts Gowanus has faced significant vandalism, with a quarter of its banners destroyed since its June launch. Program director Emily Chiavelli noted that the vandalism has escalated recently, with some banners slashed and others defaced with markers. Despite the challenges, the community has rallied to support the small nonprofit, helping cover replacement costs. Concurrently, a mural in Dinas Powys celebrating the characters from the beloved TV show 'Gavin and Stacey' has also been defaced, prompting a police investigation. The mural, created by artist Tee2sugars, was only a month old and had garnered considerable community support. Both incidents highlight ongoing issues of public art vandalism and community response.
