Explosions at Bulgarian Fireworks Warehouse Kill Four
A series of powerful explosions at fireworks warehouses in Elin Pelin, Bulgaria, resulted in at least four fatalities, including a 49-year-old pyrotechnics expert and his 20-year-old daughter, who suffered severe burns. The explosions began on the evening of July 25, prompting immediate evacuation measures and deployment of military personnel for firefighting efforts. Two other individuals, a 22-year-old and a 60-year-old, are still unaccounted for, while authorities have restricted traffic and suspended train services in the area. Investigations into the cause of the blasts are ongoing, with the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office overseeing the proceedings. Witness accounts described the initial explosion as a forceful shock that rattled windows and sent mushroom clouds into the air. The warehouses, reportedly containing large stocks of fireworks, were regularly inspected, and the last check occurred two months prior to the incident.
