Russia Warns Against Dating Apps Amid Ukraine Conflict

Russian authorities have advised residents in border regions like Kursk, Bryansk, and Belgorod to avoid using dating apps and limit social media activity to prevent Ukrainian forces from gathering intelligence. This follows the Ukrainian incursion into the Kursk region, where Kyiv claims to have seized over 1,250 square kilometers of Russian territory and 92 towns and villages. The Ministry of Internal Affairs highlighted that Ukrainian forces are targeting IP addresses and accessing unprotected security cameras for reconnaissance purposes. Military personnel were also advised to avoid using phones with sensitive information and to delete contact details of captured soldiers. Measures have been implemented to monitor and moderate online communication quickly. The warnings come amid ongoing battles and significant territorial gains by Ukrainian forces.
