India Becomes Largest Market for Meta AI

India has become the largest market for Meta's artificial intelligence (AI) assistant, as reported by CFO Susan Li during the company's Q2 earnings call. Since launching in June, Meta AI has processed billions of queries and is available on multiple platforms including WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram. CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the AI is now offered in eight languages and is seeing strong user engagement, particularly on WhatsApp. Meta's advertising revenue rose significantly, contributing to a total revenue of $39.1 billion for Q2, marking a 22% increase year-over-year. However, the company has faced cultural challenges in adapting the AI for the Indian market, prompting algorithm adjustments. Looking ahead, Meta is set to invest substantially in AI development, requiring tenfold computing power for future models.
