Marlins Beat Rays 6-2; Muñoz Secures Win
Xavier Edwards drove in three runs, and Jake Burger and Jonah Bride homered to help Roddery Muñoz secure his first win in nearly three months as the Miami Marlins defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 6-2. Muñoz, who had been 0-5 in 10 starts since his first major league win in May, allowed two runs and four hits while striking out seven over five innings. Taj Bradley, who had not allowed a run in 24 consecutive innings, suffered his first loss since June 8, conceding four runs and four hits over five innings. Christopher Morel, acquired from the Cubs, hit his 20th home run of the season for the Rays. The Marlins overcame two one-run deficits and snapped a two-game losing streak. The Rays, who recently traded several players, fell to 55-53 on the season.
