The Punjab and Haryana High Court has declined interim relief to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) regarding their request to dismiss the recent Chandigarh mayoral election that declared BJP's Manoj Sonkar as the winner. AAP candidate Kuldeep Kumar, who lost the election, filed a petition alleging vote count irregularities. The court, having issued notices to the Chandigarh administration and the newly elected BJP mayor, will respond to the petition in three weeks. Meanwhile, AAP plans to appeal to the Supreme Court for an early hearing.
