Manaea Leads Mets to Shutout Victory
Sean Manaea led the New York Mets to a 6-0 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals in a makeup game, marking his second consecutive start without allowing an earned run. Manaea pitched seven scoreless innings, striking out 10 and walking none, extending his scoreless streak to 14 innings. Tyrone Taylor contributed a three-run double, while Jeff McNeil hit his 10th home run of the season. The Mets have won eight of Manaea's last 10 starts and hold the tiebreak advantage over the Cardinals for a potential wild-card berth. St. Louis struggled against left-handed starters, losing four of their last five games and 16 of their last 24 against lefties. Andre Pallante allowed five runs in 4 2/3 innings for the Cardinals.
