Journey band members Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon have resolved their legal dispute regarding the management of their business subsidiary, Freedom 2020, just as the band celebrates its 50th Anniversary with a nationwide tour. The Delaware Chancery Court appointed former Vice Chancellor Joseph Slights as a third independent director to break future deadlocks between the two, with Cain expressing satisfaction over the court's decision. The conflict stemmed from accusations by Cain that Schon mismanaged funds, including taking a $1.5 million advance for tour expenses against Cain's preference for a $500,000 advance, and overspending on hotel accommodations. Although Schon has agreed to the appointment of the custodian, tensions remain evident, particularly as Cain's legal team accused him of trying to limit the custodian's role. With the legal issues settled, Journey is set to continue their tour, performing in San Diego following a show in San Francisco. The resolution comes amidst ongoing tour engagements and speculation about the band’s future plans.
