Multinational Military Exercise KhaAN
The Indian Army contingent has departed for the Multinational Military Exercise KHAAN QUEST, scheduled from July 27 to August 9, 2024, in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. This annual exercise, now in its 21st iteration, aims to enhance global military collaboration and peacekeeping capabilities, having evolved from a bilateral event between the USA and Mongolia since its inception in 2003. The Indian team comprises 40 personnel, primarily from a Battalion of the Madras Regiment, including one woman officer and two women soldiers. Participants will engage in joint tactical drills and planning, focusing on establishing checkpoints, patrolling, civilian evacuation, and counter-IED operations. The exercise emphasizes interoperability and military readiness in line with the United Nations Charter's Chapter VII. It serves as a platform for sharing best practices among participating countries, fostering camaraderie and cooperation in peacekeeping efforts.
