Matt Richardson Joins Great Britain Cycling Team

Matt Richardson, a 25-year-old track cyclist and triple Olympic medalist from Australia, has officially switched allegiance to the Great Britain cycling team after winning three medals at the Paris Olympics. His decision to change nationality, approved by the UCI, has surprised and disappointed the Australian cycling federation, with performance manager Jesse Korf acknowledging the emotional complexities of such a choice. Richardson expressed that the decision was not made lightly and emphasized his respect for Australia, where he has competed since moving there at age nine.
