Fairfield Amtrak station

A 53-year-old man, Terrance Royston Sr., was arrested at the Fairfield/Vacaville Amtrak station on suspicion of sexual assault and physical assault against a woman and her husband. Police received a distress call around 11:19 a.m. and dispatched a nearby school resource officer who intervened and apprehended Royston within minutes. The couple was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment. Royston faces multiple charges, including attempted murder and attempted rape, as well as allegations of an attempted robbery of a passenger shortly before the assaults. The investigation is ongoing, and further details regarding additional charges related to the robbery are yet to be determined. Authorities confirmed that the incident occurred at the train station and not aboard a train.
