Chicago Bears safety Douglas Coleman III was hospitalized after suffering an injury during a preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The injury occurred when he tackled Chiefs wide receiver Cornell Powell, leading to Coleman being carted off the field on a stretcher. Fortunately, head coach Matt Eberflus reported that Coleman had movement in his limbs and even gave a thumbs-up to teammates before leaving for medical evaluation. Coleman, who signed with the Bears earlier this year after a successful stint in the Canadian Football League, is currently competing for a roster spot. The Bears won the game 34-21, finishing their preseason undefeated. Coleman’s recovery and potential return to practice will depend on further evaluations of his condition.
