Orioles Acquire All-Star Pitcher Corbin Burnes

The Baltimore Orioles have traded for right-handed starting pitcher Corbin Burnes from the Milwaukee Brewers. Burnes, a three-time All-Star and 2021 NL Cy Young winner, has a 3.39 ERA and 200 strikeouts in 32 starts in 2023. In exchange, the Brewers will receive shortstop prospect Joey Ortiz, left-handed pitcher DL Hall, and the 34th pick in the 2024 MLB Draft. This trade concludes the duo of aces, Burnes and Brandon Woodruff, who were both traded in the offseason. Burnes is set to become a free agent after the 2024 season.
