ESPN Unveils SEC on ABC Theme Music

ESPN has reintroduced a nostalgic theme song for its 'SEC on ABC' broadcasts, set to debut on August 31 during the Florida vs. Miami game. The new composition, crafted by Bob Christianson, is a re-orchestration of ESPN's classic college football theme from the late 1990s and early 2000s. This change comes as the SEC transitions from CBS to ABC under a 10-year media rights agreement that grants ABC exclusive broadcasting rights to SEC games. SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey expressed that the new theme will enhance the presentation of SEC football, connecting the past with today's viewing experience. The revamped theme will be used for all SEC home games aired on ABC, including prime-time slots. As a significant milestone, this partnership marks a departure from CBS, which had long been synonymous with SEC football coverage.
