Opposition CMs Boycott NITI Aayog Meeting

The 9th NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting, chaired by PM Modi, faced significant boycotts from several opposition-ruled states, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Puducherry, due to perceived budgetary discrimination and neglect by the central government. Chief ministers from the INDIA bloc and Congress-led states criticized the central government for not distributing taxes and funds equitably, accusing it of undermining federal principles. Puducherry CM N. Rangasamy missed the meeting due to budget session commitments. Participants like Andhra Pradesh's CM emphasized demographic management, skill census, and green energy, while Maharashtra's CM focused on participative governance. BJP leaders condemned the boycott as divisive and harmful to cooperative federalism.
