Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx was allegedly assaulted near her residence in Flossmoor over the weekend. William Swetz, 34, of Flossmoor, is charged with aggravated battery in a public place and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Swetz allegedly threw a brown liquid at Foxx from his vehicle and then accelerated towards her, forcing her to step off the road. He was arrested and has since been released, with a court order to have no contact with Foxx. Swetz is scheduled to appear in court again on Tuesday. Foxx, the first Black woman to serve as Cook County's top prosecutor, did not suffer any injuries.
