U.S. Officer-Involved Shootings Result in Deaths, Injuries

Multiple incidents of officer-involved shootings occurred across the United States on Friday, resulting in fatalities and injuries. In Elk City, Oklahoma, a 29-year-old man named Jerry Garcia was fatally shot after he approached officers with a knife. Clarksdale, Mississippi, saw an officer-involved shooting where an individual who fired at an officer was killed, and the officer was injured. In St. Paul, Minnesota, Tirece Reed, 33, was found dead in a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds, leading to a homicide investigation. Oklahoma City Police also shot and killed a man who pointed a firearm at officers after attempts to de-escalate a mental health crisis failed. Finally, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, an officer shot a man during a confrontation outside an apartment complex, leaving the man in critical condition.
