Murder Charges in New Bedford and Plant City

Juan Padilla-Santana, 42, has pleaded not guilty to charges of murdering his nephew, Omil Padilla-Corsino, 23, during an altercation at their New Bedford apartment on Saturday. Padilla-Santana, who had recently moved from Puerto Rico, claims the stabbing was in self-defense after Padilla-Corsino initiated the physical confrontation. Padilla-Corsino was found with multiple stab wounds and later died at a local hospital. The incident occurred on the day Padilla-Corsino and his girlfriend had planned a baby shower. In another incident in Plant City, Florida, 18-year-old Roelmer Fabrisio has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder after fatally stabbing a man during a verbal argument early Friday morning. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
