Wichita Firefighter Ty Voth Dies on Duty

Funeral services for Ty Voth, a 27-year-old Wichita firefighter who died in the line of duty, will be held at Park City Arena on Friday, August 9, with a public viewing preceding the service. Voth collapsed while responding to a house fire in Haysville last week and later died at a hospital; the cause of death is pending an autopsy. Fire Chief Tammy Snow praised Voth as a hero, noting his dedication to his job and fellow firefighters during his five years of service. The fire, determined to be accidental, originated from a stove and spread to the porch area where Voth was injured.
