Tow Truck Driver Arrested for Stealing 48 Cars

Brian Chacon, a 33-year-old tow truck driver from Aurora, Colorado, has been arrested for allegedly stealing 48 vehicles and selling them to salvage yards. The investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office discovered that Chacon, working for Eagle Wing Towing, stole vehicles he had no legal right to impound and sold 81 cars to salvage yards, 48 of which were confirmed stolen. Chacon faces multiple charges, including 48 counts of auto theft, 37 counts of forgery, 37 counts of chop shop activity, and five counts of possession of child pornography. The investigation began last December when detectives uncovered Chacon’s illegal activities while probing a stolen vehicle case. Many of the thefts occurred outside Douglas County, and the ownership of 29 vehicles remains undetermined. Chacon is currently held on a $350,000 bond.
