Wilson Impresses Amid Broncos' QB Competition
Russell Wilson had a challenging preseason debut with the Pittsburgh Steelers, completing 8 of 10 passes for 47 yards but taking three sacks in a 9-3 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Justin Fields showed some promise with 92 passing yards and 42 rushing yards, though he also had critical misses. Meanwhile, the Denver Broncos are still undecided on their starting quarterback, with Bo Nix, Zach Wilson, and Jarrett Stidham all competing. Zach Wilson impressed coach Sean Payton with his poise and decision-making, completing 10 of 13 passes for 117 yards and leading two touchdown drives. Bo Nix also performed well, completing 15 of 21 passes for 125 yards and a touchdown. The Broncos' quarterback competition remains open, but Wilson’s strong preseason showing has been encouraging.
