Several Girl Scouts have recently achieved the prestigious Gold Award, the highest honor in Girl Scouting, each through unique community-focused projects. Kameryn from DuPage AME troop developed a wellness website aimed at supporting teen mental health, inspired by her own health challenges as a heart patient. Kimberly in Victorville hosted a presentation about desert tortoises to promote awareness and adoption, while Kaitlyn in West Virginia created a wellness program for elementary students to address emotional development affected by COVID-19. Audrey Chen's project at the Glen Cove Senior Center raised awareness about the benefits of senior citizens adopting rescue dogs. These initiatives highlight the scouts' commitment to community service and positive change. The Gold Award is a significant accomplishment, with only 5.4% of Girl Scouts reaching this level.
