Erica Brown Fairfield

Mark Randle, 45, was convicted of first-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend, Erica Brown, whose body has never been found. Brown was last seen at their home on August 20, 2023, and reported missing on August 25, leading police to suspect foul play. Randle, who was on the run for weeks, was arrested in the Sacramento area on September 15, 2023. The trial, which began on July 10, 2024, presented evidence including DNA from a burnt car linked to Randle, as well as witness and surveillance testimony. Despite the lack of a body, the jury found Randle guilty on July 25, 2024, with police expressing hope that the verdict brings peace to Brown's family and friends. Randle is set to be sentenced at a later date.
