Journalist Rahanuma Sarah's Death Under Investigation

Rahanuma Sarah, a 32-year-old newsroom editor at Gazi TV, was found dead in Hatirjheel Lake, Dhaka. Passers-by, including Mohammad Sagar, discovered her body and took her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where she was declared dead. Sarah had posted troubling messages on Facebook before her death, indicating emotional distress. Her husband, Sayed Shuvro, mentioned they were planning a divorce and that she had been suffering from clinical depression. While some, like Sajeeb Wazed, have called her death an attack on freedom of expression, police are investigating it as a potential suicide. The body is currently at the DMCH morgue for further examination.
