Tom Pidcock Wins Gold Amid French Boos
British cyclist Tom Pidcock won his second consecutive Olympic gold medal in the men's mountain biking at the Paris 2024 Olympics despite suffering a puncture mid-race. Pidcock initially took control of the race but fell 40 seconds behind French rival Victor Koretzky after the puncture. He fought back to reclaim the lead in a dramatic final lap, ultimately winning the race amid boos from the French crowd. This gold marked Team GB's second of the Games, following an earlier win by the equestrian team. Additionally, divers Tom Daley and Noah Williams won silver in the men's synchronised 10m platform event.
