These accounts, which feature images of real influencers like German fashionista Debbie Nederlof, appear to be part of a coordinated effort to influence the upcoming U.S. presidential election. Nederlof expressed her shock and frustration upon discovering her likeness used for such purposes, emphasizing her lack of connection to U.S. politics. The investigation identified at least 56 accounts using manipulated imagery and engaging in disinformation, raising concerns about foreign interference in the electoral process.
